Now, this post is long overdue, but better late than never, right?

A while ago the book club was lucky enough to be invited to the Strange Chemistry book launch for ‘Control’ and ‘The Weight of Souls’ (which are both fantastic, I assure you) down at Forbidden Planet in London. Not only did we meet the fabulous Kim Curran and Bryony Pearce but we were blessed with some pretty awesome cake and some marvellously munch-tastic cake pops.

The evening kicked off with an introduction from Amanda Rutter, which was really nice and created a brilliant atmosphere for the rest of the night. However, the highlight of the evening for me was hearing the authors read out a chapter or so of their new books.

Hi there you guys!!

Yesterday in the store we hosted a multi author book signing. Thank you guys for coming!!! Also thank you everyone who turned up to meet and chat with them :D
The turn out wasn't as big as I had hoped, but fun was had by all! We even had some yummy fudge and cakepops too! lol

So here are the authors...

Strange Chemistry Book Signing!

I am very excited to say that we will be hosting a multi-author book signing on the 7th October with some of the Strange Chemistry authors!!! I am so excited about this, can you tell?! lol

We will have Sean Cummings, author of Poltergeeks and Kim Curran, author of Shift. They will both be in store from 12pm signing their book's on that Sunday. It is also Sean's birthday on that day too, so I will be making some cake-pops!! I will make as many as I can, so I hope there will be enough to go around! lol  We will have more copies of both books as we draw closer to the event, as well as Gwenda Bond's Blackwood, so make sure you keep an eye on instore, and you keep your receipt as proof of purchase may be required.

Did I mention that I am SUPER EXCITED!! lol

Event - Lauren Kate Signing and Competition!

 I want to start off by saying a huge thank you to everyone involved in yesterdays book signing. Thank you to all the brilliant fans who turned up! You were all so nice! Thank you to the other Waterstones staff who ran the event, Lloyd and Claire. Last but not least a massive thank you to Lauren Kate and her publicist, you guys were awesome, and all the fans had nothing but great things to say about you!

Lauren Kate Giveaway!

To tie in with the Lauren Kate signing we have this Saturday at 12:30, we will be giving away a signed promotional poster! Details on how to win will be posted on here and on twitter on Sunday morning.

Lauren Kate will be in our Bluewater store from 12:30 this Saturday to sign copies of her new book Rapture.

She has kindly agreed to sign the poster for us to give away as a prize to one of you! I will be taking photos of the event and talking with people in the que about why they love Laurens books. (So keep a lookout for me if you would like a mention on here!) Then I will be posting all about it on Sunday morning, so make sure you pop back then to find out how it went and how you could win the poster.

That's right, Lauren Kate, the bestselling American author will be making a rare UK book signing appearance for 'Rapture'. Don't miss out on having a signed copy of the captivating conclusion to her 'Fallen' series.

If you are unable to make it on the day, then signed copies can be reserved. Although they may not carry dedications and cannot be guaranteed. Pop in store before hand, or call us on 01322 624831 to talk to a Bookseller about reserving your copy!
