Member Post- Samantha Cooper

Here is the first of our Member Bio's for all you lovely people. I plan to have one from each of our members over the next few months. So here you go....

Name.

Samantha Louise Cooper.

Age

26 and a half.

What was the first YA book that you read?

Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging by Louise Rennison. I read a review about it in Bliss or Sugar magazine and I thought it was about time I read something that wasn't written by Enid Blyton!

If you could be any YA character who would it be and why?

Emmett from The Twilight Saga.
I'm not a fan of Stephenie Meyers writing or her main characters but I find that characters she doesn't focus on are quite interesting. Emmett is fun, lovable, funny and a general big brother type character that is loyal to his family. Plus he has superhuman strength and speed which always rocks. I also think it would be interesting to see what its like being a man.

Whats the one YA book you wish you had written?

Twilight for the money ;-) I'm kidding, I wish I had written Shadow Kiss by Richelle Mead. Its the third book (and my favourite) in her Vampire Academy series. It evoked every kind of emotion from me and had everything a book could want; mystery, thriller, romance, action and Vampires. Its a book any writer would love to have written.

Whats your top 5 YA books?

Shadow Kiss Richelle Mead
Glass Houses Rachel Caine
The Hunger Games Suzanne Collins
Beautiful Creatures Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
Angus, Thongs and Full Frontal Snogging - Louise Rennison

If you had to suggest just one book, to someone who has never read YA fiction before, what would it be?

Argh, this is a hard one! I'm going to say...erm...Divergent by Veronica Roth. It is well written, has no pesky love triangles and it is quite current and on trend.

Feel free to leave a comment. If you have a question for Sam, then post it bellow and I'm sure she will answer it for you!

See you next post,
